Memphis Research Methodology
Statistical scope: Memphis, TN-MS-AR Metro Area. These are metro estimates, not city or neighborhood estimates. Survey period: 2020 to 2024.
Census evidence
We extract the specified metro record from each table in the Census Bureau 2024 ACS five year summary file. Each download includes the original variable identifier, table number, estimate, and 90 percent margin of error. Raw source values are retained, and nonnumeric or suppressed estimates are represented as missing rather than zero.
Dollar estimates refer to 2024 dollars. Counts refer to the universe stated for each table. Totals and subcategories overlap and must not all be added together. A median is not an arithmetic average, and medians for different geographies should not be averaged to create a regional figure.
These releases describe the 2020 to 2024 period. They are not current rental listings or predictions. Household planning tools use figures entered by the reader, separately from the historical evidence.

Affiliate links identify optional commercial resources and do not determine the values in our datasets. Examples are labeled illustrative. Articles link factual claims to the evidence supporting them. The guides use consistent planning worksheets where the same method applies across cities. Local evidence remains labeled with its own geography and survey period.
